So today was a very exciting day because I was invited to a product launch event at Lush in Lakeside. I was emailed to say there was going to be a product showcase for bloggers if I fancied coming along and of course I didn't even hesitate to reply, yes! As many of you know I am a huge fan of Lush products so to get the chance to be invited to a private viewing was literally the most exciting thing. To this moment now, even though the event is over I still am very grateful to have been invited.
The event started with me, my sister and about 10 other bloggers being invited into the store where we were given name badges and offered fruit teas and scones. Once everyone had a chance to meet each other we were invited to stand around a table and a huge metal bowl where the new products were going to be tested. Lush had split the viewing into categories based on the types of the products such as bath bombs and bubble bars to start with, then on to shower gels, body products and then on to soaps. Before each product was demonstrated it was passed around the circle we stood in so we could smell and feel the products. For me this was such a highlight of the viewing because it meant we were hands on with the products rather than the shop assistants handling them with us just standing there watching. Once we'd all had a good smell and feel of the products a volunteer was chosen to put the bath bomb or bar into a large metal bar where we all excitedly waited to see what would happen. One quick comment on the new range that Lush have brought out from the Oxford Street Store is that all of the bath bombs in particular are extremely fun and colourful! Literally every individual bath bomb did its own special thing and changed the water in a different way to the other one. My Personal favourites from this collection was the Intergalactic bath bomb because it smells like mint, makes the water look like a glitter nights sky and has popping candy in it! That and Guy, the wonderful shop assistant, told us it was based on the film Guardians of the Galaxy! My other favourite was the Yoga bath bomb. This is because it felt so calming watching the orange bath bomb slowly turn into other pastel like colours suggesting it gets its names through the relaxation state it causes. Lillian, the other assistant running the event, told the group it took about 15 minutes for the bath bomb to completely dissolve.

My favourite product out of the bubble bars we were shown was the Milky bath bubble bar. I think it was the smell of it which won it for me! My sister claims it smells like Christmas but personally I can't brand it as a certain smell I would just say it has such a clean smell. I know this is a weak description but it just smells so clean like subtle soap. I think it is amazing! It made the water go so bubbly and even the bubbles made were super soft and glittery. The new range is extremely glittery and I love it! I also really liked the reusable bubble bar Pink Flamingo which we were told was based on a cocktail because it looks like an ornament you'd place into a drink. It turned the water a sweet pinky peach colour.

After being shown all of the bath products we moved on to the new shower gels. First was The Comforter shower gel,my favourite, which smelt like blackcurrant and was a neon pink colour. I think I love this one so much because I love the bubble bar with the same smell so I can imagine if used together would just be the most heavenly thing. The next one we were shown was the Yuzu and Cocoa which I heard people describe as having a paint like texture and colour to it. The smell of this gel is supposed to resemble chocolate oranges but I could only really smell coconuts and more tropical scents. I could imagine that this product would be really nice in the summer time because the smell reminds me of being on the beach. The last shower gel we were shown was the Beautiful shower gel. I understand where this product gets its name because the gel itself was just packed full of gold glitter. It was shimmery and had a peachy kind of smell. Although I am not too keen on the shower jellies, we were shown a quite exciting looking one which looked like a jelly version of the Beautiful shower gel. However this one was called the Refresher shower Jelly and it had more of a lemony smell.

Next we moved onto the body based products many of which were new to me so it was very exciting to test them out. We passed body scrubs such as the Rub Rub Rub which had such a pleasant jasmine smell to it, a few different foot products as well as some hand scrubs and creams all with their own amazing smell. One of my favourite things from this range was the Life's a Beach body scrub powder which resembled sand so it felt very beachy. The smell of this scrub reminded me of the Vanillary perfume from Lush which I wear daily so I would definetly treat myself to this product although it was rather pricey. My all time favourite product from this range was a product I had not seen before which was called Golden Handshake. This product was a glittery little creamy hand which once added to boiling water turns into a thick milkshake like hand mask for extremely dry hands. As someone who has tried near enough every hand cream to try and tackle dry, sore hands this was the product for me because it was so hydrating and nourishing for the skin so I simply had to get it. After testing it out and falling in love with it I decided to pick one up when the lovely assistant Lillian approached me and gave me a sample of a new hand cream called Love and Light to accompany the hand mask to get that "full hand nourishing routine". I was so grateful as I am open to trying any hand cream to find the perfect one for my dry skin so this was such a lovely thing to be offered. That and it also has such a lovely smell, the same as the Frozen bath bomb which smells quite like oranges to me.

The last of the products which we were shown was the soaps. Personally I am not really a bar of soap fan but as I've only ever tried one lush soap, Honey I washed the Kids, and actually liked it I thought I'd give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised once I got to hold and smell the soaps because many of them smelt so clean and fresh it started to change my mind about bars of soap. Some of the soaps such as the Layer Cake and Apandapand were pleasantly fruity whereas some of them had more earthy smells to them such as the Devil's Nightcap which we were shown. Although the fruity smells are normally my favourite I personally preferred the more herbal smelling soaps as my absolute favourites were Outback Mate which smelt like peppermint and Serendipity which has a lovely lavender scent.

Once the showcase of all of the new products had finished, the manager of the store paired each of us bloggers with a member of staff within the store for a one to one consultation. This was so exciting because we got to tell the staff member which kind of scents and smells we liked and they chose us a Bath bomb, a Bubble Bar and a bar of soap which we got to take home with us! I was paired with Guy whom I told I preferred more sweet and herbal smells. The products he chose were the intergalactic bath bomb, the Pink Flamingo bubble bar and the Outback Mate soap all of which were perfect for me! I love the minty smell of the intergalactic bomb and the Outback Mate soap and the sweet fruity smell of the Pink Flamingo is just wonderful! I couldn't have picked the products better myself!

After the consolation we were given free reign of the store where we could pick up some of the other products to purchase. I couldn't stop myself from getting the frozen bath bomb because seeing it bubble to a glittery blue lagoon in the demo, made it a must have. It was nice to see what products some of the other bloggers chose although there was a group agreement of wishing we could each buy everything! After prising myself away from all the amazing products we were given one last demonstration of the limited edition Sky Dancer bath bomb which is a special product where all profits go towards raising money to get tags for England's limited number of Hen Harriers. This was such a magical bath bomb because the underneath part melted away much quicker than the larger blue bird on the top of the bomb so it looked as if the bird was flying around the water on its own.

Once we'd left the store and was excitedly going through the products we had chosen, my sister and I noticed we had been treated to samples of all three shower gels we had been shown as well as a sample of the Cup O' Coffee face and body mask! We are truly grateful for this because it means we get to try the products out properly at home to get a real feel for them.
Overall the day was such an amazing event because not only did I get to test out so many new Lush products, I also got to meet so many new amazing bloggers. This was my first ever blogger event so I was rather nervous beforehand because I am quite shy but once I had met everyone I soon felt so comfortable and relaxed! Everyone got along so well and it was such a lovely environment. I would like to thank Lush Lakeside very much for the invitation to come to the event as well as all the goodies you gave us! I love Lush so much and today has strengthened this love even further. A final thank you to Guy and Lillian who carried out the event which turned out to be a great success. You were both so kind and friendly as well as very informative about all of the products! What an amazing day this has turned out to be!
